Where are Dirty Dog glasses from?
Dirty Dog sunglasses are designed in Australia.
Why buy Dirty Dog?
Dirty Dog shades boast a heavy technological history. The Dirty Dog Company began in 1980 as the collective effort of several designers and scientists. They worked together to create TR90, a lightweight and formidable compound which is virtually unbreakable. TR90 enables Dirty Dog eyewear owners to participate in spectacular and daredevil sports. This compound, combined with shatterproof polyfilter polycarbonate and decenterized lenses, allows the sunglasses to block UV rays completely and withstand heavy falls while maintaining excellent vision performance for the wearer.
With the implementation of this top eyewear technology, you’re purchasing Dirty Dog sunglasses because you expect to hit the ground…hard. Whether snowboarding, skateboarding, or engaging in general wild feats, Dirty Dog fans anticipate danger, which is why they need sunglasses that will not crack, shatter, or shrink.

Yes, the polycarbonate lenses are shatter resistant and the TR90 frames maintain their properties in extreme conditions.
What are TR90 frames?
TR90 is a type of moulded nylon compound plastic that can handle extreme temperatures, moisture levels and tension i.e. they will not become brittle and snap, they are lightweight, cannot be melted down as with many other cheaper plastics and they are resistant to cracking and mechanical fatigue. These frames have 100% memory to ensure that they always maintain the same shape. TR90 is produced as a clear plastic and then sprayed not once but six times. An epoxy resin is then applied to ensure frames are scratch resistant and allergy free meaning no allergic reactions for people with sensitive skin. The badges are screwed into the frames.
Are the Dirty Dog metal frames protected from rusting?
Yes, the Dirty Dog metal frames are coated with an epoxy resin to avoid rust spotting as often caused by salt water in cheaper frames. The epoxy resin coating also makes the frames scratch resistant and longer lasting.
What are polycarbonate lenses?
Polycarbonate is the most impact resistant optical material currently available. These lenses are constructed from lightweight polycarbonate, renowned for its superior strength, impact resistance and protection from the elements. Although they are not polarised they still provide 100% protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays. They provide up to 70% infrared (heat) protection. Dirty Dog polycarbonate lenses are decenterised and distortion free for maximum clarity of vision. Dirty Dog polycarbonate lenses are shatterproof.
